Treform has chosen to replace traditional plastic materials in its packaging and investing in materials with less impact on the earth’s resources. Although the plastic industry accounts for only a small part of the world’s crude oil consumption, it’s important that everyone takes their responsibility and do what goes on their home market.
SCANFILL – 43% less CO2 impact
SCANFILL consists of 48% polypropylene and 52% mineral, which gives it many beneficial properties. In addition to the superb environmental benefits, the mineral gives strength and stiffness, allowing production of thinner foil. The mineral also provides higher heat conductivity and better forming properties. SCANFILL offers many choices in regarding to color and appearance of matt and/or blank, and whether it should contain a barrier layer (EVOH).
SCANFILL BIO – 64% less CO2 impact
SCANFILL BIO consists of 48% non-oil-based PE (sugar cane PE) and 52% mineral, which gives it many beneficial properties. In addition to the superb environmental benefits, the mineral gives strength and stiffness, allowing production of thinner foil. The mineral also provides higher thermal conductivity and better forming properties. SCANFILL BIO offers many choices in regarding to color and appearance of matt and/or blank.
SCANFILL BIO’s superior environmental benefits are based on the fact that NO oil-based components are present in the materials. Half of the material is non-oil-based polymer and the other half is mineral with relatively non-existing environmental impact. The material is approved for food contact.
r-PET – 100% recycled material
r-PET plastic is produced from 100% recycled material that meets the requirements of EFSA. It’s produced mainly from PET beverage packaging collected and recycled from the market. r-PET is usually produced in transparent and black but is available in other colors.
